Virtual events have exploded in popularity. Traditional Zoom calls are acceptable for distanced workgroups and informational meetings but pitches, presentations, and “real” events come with elevated expectations. Of course, the right facility and equipment are critical to a successful outcome but expert creativity and execution are just as important. Here are three technical roles you can’t afford to overlook:
The Designer
From simple static branding to a complete package of motion graphics and pre-produced video segments, the Designer ensures that everything looks great and meets your brand specifications. Their work starts weeks … even months … prior to your event. Consistency in visuals from the first social media promo through the scrolling credits is a direct reflection of your brand and affects the participant experience in an enormous way.
The Producer
The Producer acts as a bridge between the client and crew. While they might have some technical experience, their job is mostly non-technical. They’re experts in organization and hold everyone around them accountable for communication and timely delivery. They also translate [sometimes] non-technical requests into highly technical outcomes.
The Streaming Coordinator
The Streaming Coordinator is the “seen but not heard” member of some crews. They’re similar to switchboard operators but in a web conferencing world. Besides scheduling 1:1 and/or group calls, the Streaming Coordinator fills an online tech support role and becomes the frontline for quality control by ensuring remote participants look and sound their best.
As you formulate your event ideas and begin seeking the appropriate means of production, keep in mind the significance of working with expert creatives in the field of event planning. Designers, producers, and streaming coordinators are exceptional thinkers and facilitators that can assist in your event’s professionalism.
